We're the first UK dental clinic to provide a revolutionary new design of orthopaedic brace to our teenage patients with undersized lower jaw problems. The digital 'Twin Block' method was introduced by Dr Richard Cousley in 2021. This new technique has been peer reviewed and will be published by the Journal of Orthodontics for other specialists to copy in 2023 - 'The Digital Twin Block appliance: concept, design and fabrication'.
It offers a substantial improvement on the established design of Twin Block which traditionally uses thick plastic plates and metal grips on the teeth. This means that Priestgate Clinic patients can benefit from wearing an almost invisible, thin plastic appliance, which optimises patient comfort and success rates. It also helps us avoid tooth extractions for bite correction purposes, and particularly the historically dreaded headgear appliance!
